Offline Marketing Strategies Your Online Business Could Use

By Kevin Thomas

Many business owners of today do not succeed in connecting their online home based business to the world that is offline. The meaning of this is that the business owner does not understand that online business can be promoted using offline strategies, or they lack the knowledge to make this happen for their particular situation. In reality, many offline promotional, advertising, and marketing strategies can be more than helpful to an online-based business.

It is very simple for a person who has an internet-based business to be stuck in the world of online marketing. Nevertheless, it is very important to be well acquainted with social networking, search engine optimization, and PPC campaigns for the success of your business. In addition, there are many cost effective ways to advertise and promote your business to a large number of possible clients. However, it is never a good idea for an online business to shun away from online marketing.

Place Your Ad HereThis does not mean that you should not do forms of offline marketing or other types of traditional advertising. In truth, what this really shows is that businesses that use many different forms and types of advertising tactics are the ones who are the most successful. Including different forms of offline advertising will only increase your chance of success and is an intelligent move to broaden your company's outreach to potential clients.

You need to keep in mind that not every offline adverting tactic will work for your particular online business. The main goal for this scenario is to find that ones that will work the best for you. There is a large enough list to try out such as post cards, radio advertising, ads in the newspaper, trade magazines, as well as conferences, tradeshows and many more. So just how are you going to find the best advertising platforms for your online business?

Just the same as you would with the online marketing you use, you look for the most cost effective and efficient forms of advertising and promoting. In using search engine optimization, you are not going to want to target a broad search of "cars" when you are trying to sell "vintage car auctions in New York."

The competition you would end up facing and the cost of this plan would be too high for you. In addition to this, the viewers you end up attracting might not even be searching for what you selling and will lose interest. They might have actually been looking for "car repair shops" or even "cars with great gas mileage" or another matter pertaining to cars.

Undoubtedly, the same rules will be applicable in working with offline marketing. You are going to want to target your customers in the best way possible, so you should try to reach them in places they will most likely be found and in an environment will they will be most attentive to what you are saying to them. What this does is lower the cost of marketing, while at the same time increasing you chances of reaching new customers.

Any method of offline marketing you choose to use must be clear in the way of showing tangible benefits for the business. Simply pouring money into advertising will not get you anywhere in the long run. What you really need to do is consider what you are really trying to get done, and then create a plan to attain that goal.

Are you trying to get a thousand new names to your emailing list to increase the number of potentially new prospects? On the other hand, are you trying to advertise and market some new service or item you are releasing? Are you trying to let people know about discounts for a limited time only to attract new customers in the hope of doing more business with them over time?

Whatever it is you are trying to do, you need to first off figure out what you want the end result to be. After that is done, you can discern which ways are the best to accomplish this goal. Finding ten to twenty worthwhile prospects you may want to get involved with a tradeshow or even a conference however, attracting the most views you can to your website might mean advertising on the radio or even a newspaper.

Keep your budget and goals in mind when you are selecting a marketing plan that will suit your needs best to the goals you are trying to reach. Always remember that an online business is not restricted only to online marketing. No law written or unwritten which states a website cannot use offline methods of marketing. So now is the time to increase your online business by using offline marketing and advertising tactics.

MLM- What is it?

By Kevin Thomas

MLM or multi level marketing is a form of marketing where a network of people is used to sell a product. Sellers are compensated for their sales as well from the sales of people that they recruit to sell the product. This marketing strategy is very effective because it involves recruiting a network of people who will do the marketing and selling for the company and get paid only if they are successful in selling the product.

How MLM Works

The manufacturer in an MLM setup hires a distributor who will recruit sales people. The distributor finds appropriate sales people through their network and gives them the sales tools necessary to sell the product. Sales people are independent contractors who use their own network of people to market and sell the product. In the online world, it is done though web promotion as well as social media networking. Whenever they make a sale through their network, the distributor records it and give the sales people a commission for every sale. The commission can be a percentage of the cost of the product or a fixed rate for every sale.

Typically, sales people use websites, blogs, forums, E-book marketing, email marketing and other methods to sell products online. The more exposure they give to a product, the more people they will get to buy the product.

Everything in multi-level-marketing can be tracked online and typically sales people get a check at the end of every month. Some distributors set rules like a minimum monthly balance before they pay the sales people. Commissions for these sales typically range from 4%-15%. Some programs pay more but programs that involve selling expensive products normally have a low commission.

MLM And Pyramid Schemes

Multi-level-marketing is often confused with Pyramid Schemes. However, this is not true. Pyramid schemes are illegal and normally require people to stock up on products and meet minimum quotas every month in order to be a part of the network. Multi-level-marketing is different from pyramid schemes and perfectly legal.

MLM is a great way for companies to market their products effectively for a low budget. The key is to find a good distributor who has a good network of sales people. It is also a great way for good sales people to make money. While some people make a good supplemental income, there are many people who make a handsome living by being part of a multi-level-marketing network.

Has The Internet Killed MLM

There is great discussion going on right now within the network marketing industry on weather or not the internet has killed MLM. I really don’t believe that MLM will ever go away, but the internet has caused huge attrition rates because of online negative activity taking place by way of online ads, negative promotions and rumors being spread across the internet. But all in all MLM when done correctly can provide an extra stream of income for those willing to take the time and put in the work.

How to market your MLM business using Online Social Networks

By Kevin Thomas

The secret to success in any MLM business is to have a lot of people in your network, and using online social networks is a good way to do this. For every 100 people who view your product, 15 to 25 people on average will see ads for the product that you’re trying to sell and 2 to 4 people will buy the product. So basically, you’re looking at a 2% rate of success and that is if your product and marketing are good.

Successful marketers are aware of these statistics and they’re constantly working to bring more prospects into there marketing funnels. They promote their products in such a way that thousands of people see their ads every week, or even every day. That way, they get enough sales to generate a high income.

In order to get a high number of people attracted to your products, savvy marketers must create a network of people and promote themselves and their business through the network. After the network is built, the marketer strategically markets the product to the people in the network by strategic marketing bulletins and updates at appropriate times. If there are too many updates, people won’t pay attention to it and if there are too few updates, they are not doing enough marketing. Good marketers should always track the response rate for each of there marketing campaigns and then tailor their marketing strategies accordingly.

In order to effectively build a network for your MLM business, you should join the following networks to begin with:

  • Facebook
  • Yahoo Groups
  • Twitter
  • Linkedin

All of these networks are very popular and Facebook and Yahoo Groups have niche sub groups within them. They also have demographic information of their users which will help you to segment your target audience better.

When you join these networks, send updates to your friends and family to join the network and ask them to let their friends know about your products. Then, contact people who fit your niche and ask them to join your network.

Use one network to promote another. For example, put up links to your Facebook and Linked in page on your Twitter page and vice versa. Put up links for all on your website. This cross promotion will help to build and promote your network. Then, when you are ready, put updates up on all networks along with links to appropriate sections of your website.

If you are persistent and constantly use networks to promote your products, your MLM business will have a lot more people who get to see your marketing efforts and your sales will constantly increase and sustain itself over a long period of time.
