Where to research MLM companies

By Kevin Thomas

MLM or multi-level-marketing is a great way to make money online. Thousands of people make a lot of money online through MLM.And it’s a great way for companies to market their products at a low budget with distributors and sales people who can make a lucrative income by selling products for a commission.

The internet and MLM

As the internet is becoming more prevalent and the economy moves from a service based model to embracing technology, more people are looking to start their own online businesses and become independent entrepreneurs. Many of them are using MLM as a method to generate income and researching these multi-level companies should be your number one priority.

Once you are ready to become a marketer in an MLM network, you have to find the right network that suits your needs and interests. This is the key to being successful in MLM. If you don’t find the right multi-level-marketing opportunity for you, then odds are you won’t be enthusiastic when selling there products. And there’s nothing worst than a salesperson who doesn’t believe in there products or the people they’re working with.

To start with, you should look online for MLM opportunities. This is the easy part as there are scores of companies out there. Once you find a few companies that you like, make a list of them for your research.

MLM forums and blogs

Another place to find out about MLM opportunities is online forums and blogs. The good thing about the online marketing community is that they communicate with one another and like to talk about their experiences. Join these forums and blogs and make friends with people there. Go through the reviews that they have written for the products. Look for information regarding the payment structure, type of products and reliability of the company. Ask questions regarding the program and anything else that interests you.

Finally, do a Google search for each of the MLM opportunities you have listed. Sometimes, newspapers and online publications do stories on MLM opportunities and they review companies. Another question you might want to research is whether or not the company is public or private interestingly enough not to many people think about this one, but it’s definitely a good question to ask.

Researching MLM opportunities

Two of the best places to research MLM opportunities as mentioned in a previous article are digitalpoint.com and warriorforum.com.

To find MLM opportunities, you can look up sites like best-mlm-opportunities.com and mlmrankings.com.

Research saves time and money

I really like your ideas, great information. I agree that to many times people don't research what they are getting into enough and even when they think they have, they need to research deeper.

Interesting though, I never thought of researching a company on whether they are public or private. Excellent point, Kevin.

Thanks for sharing.

People tend to sign the dotted line before knowing what they are getting into and later they blame network marketing for their failure to succeed.

If they only had taken their time, researched all aspects of the company, the product, the training and the compensation plan before signing on the dotted line, their success might be better guaranteed.

And then it might not! It takes commitment, persistent and consistent application to make any business work but especially so in network marketing.

Know Before You Buy

Hi Kevin,

Research was so far from my mind when I joined my opportunity, it still amazes me. Now that I know better, I would go about it SO much differently.

Research is THE MOST important part of joining any opportunity. I'm lucky that the company I joined is a good one and I didn't get scammed. But, it can and has happened to other people and they come away with a bad taste for mlm or any kind of network marketing. It's not the network marketing industry, it's just not understanding it. It's also about not being taught correct marketing methods.

Granted, there are plenty of scams as well, but that again, is where research comes in.

Thanks for the research resources. Very helpful!

Thanks for the article. Research is definitely one way to pinpoint the right company. I'd be interested in seeing what you look for in your research---like what is the advantage of a private vs public company.
