Should You Build Multiple Network Marketing Companies at the Same Time?

There are many distributors that advocate building multiple network marketing companies at the same time. They talk about the advantages to building multiple streams of income and talk about the security this offers if one company fails.
There are other distributors that advocate only focusing in on one company. They point out how the large majority of distributors that earn the huge incomes have done so by focusing their efforts on a single company.
I will let you make up your own mind as far as whether building multiple companies is right for you or not. Here you will learn the advantages and disadvantages to each.
Network Marketing Opportunity – Multiple Streams or Big Distraction
One of the primary benefits in building two or more network marketing companies at the same time is the ability to produce multiple streams of income. Here is the typical scenario that you will hear from advocates of this approach.
Which scenario is better? Earning $1000 a month from one company or $500 a month from two companies? According to advocates of the multiple opportunity strategy, the $500 a month is better.
The reason? $500 a month from two sources is more secure. If something happens to the first source, at least you still have half of your income. If all of your income comes from one source and something happens to it, your income will be gone.
Sounds good in theory, but there are a number of disadvantages to this in practice. You only have X number of hours a day to build your business.
Assume you devoted half your time to company A and the other half your time to company B.
By building multiple network marketing business opportunities at the same time, you dilute your results. It takes longer for the compounding effect of building your organization to kick in because your efforts are split in half.
There’s also, of course, the learning curve that comes with learning two different businesses with two different product models, compensation plans, training systems, etc.
This is the reason many distributors who try to build multiple companies struggle.
Network Marketing Business – Does It Ever Make Sense To Build More Than One?
There are some scenarios where it may make sense to build two or more network marketing business opportunities at the same time.
For example, suppose you are in a health related network marketing company. Your company has a killer product, a great compensation plan and excellent MLM business training.
However, you also see the value in getting your team to plug into personal development training.
As a result, you find another network marketing company that offers personal development training as a product. You decide to join the company as a distributor so that you can offer the personal development training to your organization as well.

This is a scenario where building multiple network marketing companies make sense. In this scenario, you are not diluting your efforts. This is because you are recruiting a distributor for your health related company and then offering the personal development program as an add-on.
However, you must be careful with this. Some network marketing companies have strict guidelines which do not allow you to promote any type of product or opportunity to anyone in your organization. Doing so can result in the termination of your distributor agreement with your main network marketing company.
