Internet/Network Marketing Tools – What’s The Most Important Internet Marketing Tool?

Internet/Network marketing tools are an essential component in an online business but which ones should you use and why? There is a huge selection of Internet marketing tools to choose from; some are essential, some make life easier and some are just a waste of time and money. In this series of ticles, we are going to look at what are the most important tools to have in your Internet/network marketing toolbox.

Having an online home based business can be relatively inexpensive to run when you compare it to a traditional brick and mortar business but there are still some expenses that you can’t avoid or should not avoid.

I say should not avoid because technically you can get by without ever spending a cent on Internet marketing tools but the cost of skimping on some of the essential tools for running an internet home based business at the start could cost you a fortune later on…we’ll talk about that later in this article.

2 Broad Categories of Internet Marketing Tools

I feel that tools of any kind fall into 2 main categories;

  1. tools that you just can’t do without

  2. tools that make your life easier

Let’s imagine that you are going to go and chop firewood, this is a job where you are definitely going to need a couple of tools in your kit. An example of a tool that you just can’t do without would be an axe. Now chopping wood with an axe takes a lot of time and effort but it can be done. If you are in hurry or you just don’t like the idea of swinging an axe all day to get a load of wood you could consider getting a chainsaw…that’d be much quicker and this is a good example of a tool that makes your life easier.

As you can see in this example, one tool is less expensive to purchase but takes more time and effort for you to get the job done where as the other tool is much more expensive but will allow you to be home by lunch, in front of your cozy fire sipping tea.

There is often a tradeoff between saving money and saving time when it comes to tools. Once you know how much time you can afford and how much money you are willing to spend, making a choice on which tool best fits your needs becomes much easier.

Tools for your Internet/network marketing business are no different and so it is a matter of assessing what it is that you want to accomplish and then take into account how much money and time you can allocate to get the job done.

Identifying Your Primary Objective For Your Internet/Network Marketing Business

As with most big projects it’s helpful to start with your end goal in mind to help you determine what you are going to need to get the job done. As internet or network marketer, I would suggest that your goal is to sell products at a reasonable profit and/or attract people that are interested in developing an income stream by working from home.

The next question is how do you do that and what tools will you need?

Considering the fact that many people don’t purchase from you the first time that they arrive at your website, you will need a way to develop a relationship with these people over a period of time. This is one of the most important concepts in Internet marketing; you absolutely should be building a list of prospects. You can read about how not building a mailing list of prospects cost Ann Sieg in excess of $350.000 over a couple of years in her Internet/network marketing business.

An Autoresponder - Possibly The Most Important Internet Marketing Tool You Can Ever Have

If the idea of dropping $350 000 in your business doesn’t sound appealing, than the most important internet marketing tool you can ever have in your kit is an autoresponder.

Considering building a mailing list is going to be a key factor in your internet/network marketing business success, choosing a good autoresponder is of critical importance.

I’ve heard of people changing autoresponder services after being in business for a number of years and in the changeover process they lost over 70% of their mailing list…you definitely do not want to do that.

You can read a review of which are the best autoresponders to use to help you make an informed decision, this is one thing you absolutely must get right.

You can learn about Internet marketing, about tools like autoresponders at Renegade University as an introductory training centre.

Getting People To Join Your Mailing List

People won’t just jump on your mailing list because you asked them to do so, you’ll have to offer them some valuable information before they will make that commitment and that brings us to the next set of tools that we are going to need -- tools for creating landing pages or sometimes referred to as lead capture pages.

In the next article in this series on Internet-Network marketing tools, we’ll cover some important points about landing pages and what tools are best for easily creating them. To receive updates when articles have been added to this site, simply subscribe to our RSS feed.
