The other day I wrote about Tweeter Getter, a Twitter list building tool that uses a viral concept to grow your list significantly faster than you ordinarily could. In the last article, I suggested if you move forward and use it, proceed with caution.

*For those who don't know, Twitter is the best networking tool you can use today to attract prospects and build relationships for business.  Once Marketing Merge "Renegade" Professional stops allowing new members to join later this month, we will be focusing our membership on how to build your entire 'attraction marketing' and list building process with Twitter. I'm going to get into it in detail. You'll love it. More on that later.

Back to Tweeter Getter: I'm Liking What I See So Far...

I'm liking what I see from Tweeter Getter. I'm still cautious but far less than I was when I wrote about it last week. I'm still waiting to hear back from Twitter about how they feel about this viral tool, but judging by the fact the creator of the viral tool has grown his Twitter list from zero to 11,000+ in days and he still has his account up, I can only guess Twitter doesn't mind the extra exposure. I studied their terms and can't see anywhere where it violates their terms. I've talked with the creator of the viral tool... he seems very "transparent" and sincere in his intentions to add value to the online community. It'll be interesting how this all shakes down, that's for sure.

I've spent 15+ hours studying the debate and don't believe there is merit in the common stance that Tweeter Getter is a harmful tool to social media 'networking' and value-based sharing. I think a misconception has evolved from past tools that were harmful and that sometimes people have a difficult time deciphering the subtle distinctions between new things and old experiences. For example, if you were bit by a dog the first time, a similar dog in the future may frighten you... but if the first dog was a rottweiler and the new dog is a beagle, well, your perception is understandable but not accurate. I think that's what has happened here.

I explain more in the Tweeter Getter updated article why using Tweeter Getter to build your list actually helps you provide more value to more people AFTER they get on your list. And since the nature of Twitter is that many people follow you without you ever knowing why, my perspective is why not get more to follow you through Tweeter Getter. As long as you're proving value (discussion, etc) after they're on your list you are using Twitter as it should be used. I've been promoting Tweeter Getter at Google Adwords and traffic exchanges like Traffic Swarm (changed all my ads over to Tweeter Getter since Traffic Swarm won't get results for affiliate e-books any more, that time has passed).

Genius or Stupidity...

I just have a feeling that this is either one of the stupidest or smartest things I've jumped on and only time will tell which it is. As a business person, I'm a risk taker. But I do so after research and consideration. I am usually right in my hunches but it would be misleading (and hard to sell you on that statement) if I didn't mention I've been wrong before :-)

Still, I would bet the bank on Twitter. I think everyone should stop what they are doing and put a significant effort into understanding and learning how to use Twitter to build your business, whether you use Tweeter Getter to do it or not. Again, we'll focus tremendously on this soon, tying in together the lessons we are covering now in "How I Built My First List" with the emphases of providing your own value, along with using a blog, your own lead capture pages and each of the 5 components I've recently discussed to duplicate the success I've had time and time again. That's going to be the next big training focus coming up for Professionals.

As a side note, I got over 200 visitors to my blog in the last 48 hours from Twitter. All free, highly targeted. It is the most powerful list and relationship tool I have used or seen, period.

Mike Klingler Discusses PPC DominationHow to Dominate After Google's PPC Crack Down

PPC Domination was just released by Mike Dillard and Jim Yaghi, their new training for Affiliate Network Marketers on how to dominate with Google PPC using the funded sponsoring proposal.

But now just days after the PPC Domination course was released, and after many students had just set up their new "optimized" campaigns, their ads are being shut down.  The reason?

Google is Cracking Down on PPC Campaigns in the Network Marketing, MLM or Affiliate Marketing Industries?

This is circulating around out there because a lot of people in the network marketing and affiliate marketing industries have been knocked off their high positions in PPC (even the big players).  But this doesn't mean you can't dominate with PPC on Google if you're in network marketing (or Affiliate Marketing)... it means you have to step up and Create Your Own Lead Capture Pages.

PPC Domination student, Scott Phares, reports what hapenned to him at Jim Yaghi's blog:

Hi Jim - Google changed the rules yesterday. All my ads were disapproved or their Quality Score went so low they won’t ever display. I called an 800 number I have for Google and spoke with one of their adwords reps. Google no longer considers network marketing, affiliate marketing and MLM businesses as “valid” businesses. As a result, they have disallowed all ads forwarding to affiliate links/sites, bridge pages that then forward to an affiliate site, and any site that contains or mirrors all or portions of a parent company site.

Jim Yaghi (creator of PPC Domination) responded that Google does not deem network marketing and affiliate marketing illegitimate industries, and refers to Google's Affiliate PPC Policy.  He also notes that many of the people who had their PPC ads shut down were using domain masking or domain forwarding, which has been against Google's Policy for some time.

Jim Yaghi's suggestion for PPC Domination Students

Jim Yaghi says Google is Cracking Down on site quality and that this will continue to happen.  What this means is that Google is placing more and more emphasis on the 'content quality' of your site. 

So if you are just promoting an affiliate lead capture page (that others also promote), and someone else is competing for the same key words on Google with a unique lead capture page or one that Google deems 'more valuable' based on their methods, you will have to pay more to compete for top positioning in PPC. 

In other words, it's going to get nearly impossible to dominate with PPC if you don't also learn to Create Your Own Lead Capture Pages, which are UNIQUE and even possibly provide more value beyond just pitching something.

Build Your Own Lead Capture Pages to Dominate with Your PPC

Google's crackdown is actually good news for you.  As Perry Marshall describes it, "It thins the heard."  That makes it easier for you to Dominate with PPC.

Affiliate and Network Marketers must learn to create their own lead capture pages.  What's funny is that this is much easier to do than many realize.  And those who do it will have less competition so the reward for learning to do this now is exponentially more financially rewarding than ever.

I've gotten a lot of questions about PPC Domination, a course recently released from Jim Yaghi and Mike Dillard, training you on the ins and outs of using Pay-Per-Click advertising (focusing on Google Adwords, of course).

Jim Yaghi is the in-house PPC guy for Mike Dillard's Magnetic Sponsoring company--and he knows his stuff about PPC.

In PPC Domination, Jim doesn't just show you how to set up a Google Adwords campaign (like we do in the Renegade Professional training program) he goes deeper, showing tricks that few people know about... that he's discovered recently.

For those of you who are new to Lead Generation, you may wonder, what IS PPC (Pay-per-click advertising)?  In short, that's the ads you see on the right side (and at the top) of Google when you search for a term.  You pay for these ads, which is different than the results you see displayed on the left side that go down the page, which are free (this is called SEO Traffic).  Generating 'free leads' through SEO is the topic of the training program I described the other day, called SEO Networker.

Why pay for PPC if you can get Google to display your stuff free?

Because you have more control.  While there are other factors, in theory if you pay more than someone else for a search term you can come up at the top (or near the top) and get exposure, which generates leads and sales.  In order to get ranked in the free area, it takes a little more planning. 

That's the common belief, though this isn't 100% accurate.  There is A LOT of planning with PPC, unless you want to lose your shirt.  Most people lose a lot of money trying to make PPC advertising work.  It's hard work to know how to create a complete marketing plan that is successful.

How Can Jim Yaghi and Mike Dillard Claim that their PPC Domination Class Can Help You Generate Free Leads?

If you do the work and put together a thorough marketing strategy you can generate free leads with PPC.  You can actually make money with PPC marketing.  This is done through what's called a Funded Sponsoring Proposal.  This allows you to immediately make money through a sales page (or some kind of sales process) so that the cost of the PPC advertising is offset by the immediate sale it generates.

I've been asked if I recommend PPC Domination to our students...

Though I haven't taken the course, I do recommend the course to anyone who is not already deep into a course they've already purchased or are committed to.  But if you're ready for a training program (you should always be learning) I highly recommend PPC Domination

Is PPC or SEO Better?

There is a big debate from both sides about which is better for network marketing lead generation:  PPC or SEO...

Both sides have a strong argument and each have their own set of Pros and Cons.

The quick comparison list looks something like this:

Pros of PPC:

Fast results.  You put up an ad and can usually see it getting clicks within hours.

Easy to track.  You can easily and quickly see how many people click on one ad vs. another.  This allows you to optimize your campaigns and know which key words to use in your marketing.  This is a good trick to know what key words to use in your SEO marketing as well.

Cons of PPC:

It can cost you a lot of money figuring out how to make it work.  You can't expect to throw up and ad and be in profit.  While you may generate leads quickly, they may cost you more than they make until you master the other aspects of marketing (like lead capture page, sales page, etc).

It's competitive..  I don't care what anyone tells you, the more people that do PPC, the more difficult it gets to succeed at it.  That's because it is based on an 'auction' system.  This means that you are bidding against other marketers in your field competing for the top positions.  If you can't get on the first page your ads will rarely be seen.  If you have to settle for being on the 2nd page or even further down the list, you have to manage a lot of campaigns, which can be very time consuming... because if you're not on page one it is unlikely one ad is producing much.  So to compensate you have to manage significantly more PPC ads.

Pros of SEO:

It's free.

You can easily brand yourself.  In other words, you can use video, blogs, photos, etc for a very personalized touch so that your prospects who find your SEO content get to know you before they get on your list. While you can use video and 'branding tools' with PPC, SEO offers a much richer relationship building experience. 

Cons of SEO:

Not as immediate as PPC.  Although I would argue in defense of SEO that an immediate result with PPC that is costing you a fortune (when at first you don't know what you're doing) it can be a lot safer to learn on an SEO marketing plan.

Both have their merits.  I suggest everyone try both.  Depending on your personality and strengths, one may suit YOU more than the other.

Learn From Eric's Interview: Catapult Yourself in Business and Lead Generation

If you're a network marketer starting to build your own prospects list through Internet attraction marketing, one of the first things you want to do is start thinking outside the box when it comes to 'who' you want to attract.

When I first started creating my marketing, such as this blog, I wasn't thinking outside the box and it limited me initially.  For example, this blog targets a very niche audience... those who have reviewed or are about to review books by Mike Dillard like Magnetic Sponsoring or Ann Sieg and her Renegade Network Marketer.

There's nothing wrong with that... but you want to go way beyond such small niche audiences in order to get the full benefit of attraction marketing.

Today I'll give you just one of a million examples... and this is a big one that can bring huge results for you if you follow up on it.

The target market I'm speaking about today is the 'online affiliate marketer' who has not been actively involved in network marketing and MLM because it used to be too hard to make money.

These people are awesome people to target now that you're online. 

Why?

Because they already have a list.  They already know how to market.  Build up relationships with these folks and you'll be able to totally leverage their lists to build an organization.

What's in it for the online marketer?

You can create Internet content that attracts online marketers with several different carrots:

1. They can now sell affiliate products to network marketers to increase affiliate cash-flow

2. They can now build a list of network marketers and leverage that into an MLM empire without the old tactics

3. You can offer to work their leads for them to build an MLM empire as partners.  They create the free high quality leads and you work them.

By reaching out to online marketers you leverage yourself on an entirely new level because you'll be attracting people to your prospects list and team who know marketing.

It's funny.  I've been focused on training people how to set up their Internet marketing.  Up until yesterday I'd pretty much forgotten about Ann Sieg's The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing report.  When I first read the report it didn't impact me all that much.  It was Sieg's Renegade Network Marketer that I fell in love with.

But for a lot of people, The 7 Lies hit a chord.  It didn't only excite a lot of burned out networkers and get them ready for change into affiliate network marketing and the funded proposal process, but it also ruffled the feathers of some of the old-school MLMers who feel threatend by the message.

Well, up until yesterday I thought this was all old news and that it had become obvious by now that network marketing is a changin'.  Then I got this nasty email from a million dollar income earner who I have known for over a decade.

His biggest beef with Ann Sieg was that she used negative marketing tactics to stir things up and he said this was harmful.  What's funny is I happen to know he's used negative marketing tactics of over 10 years to scare poeple into buying his nutritional products (and invoking fear in our current health care model)--so I think something else is going on.

It wouldn't have bothered me.  I mean, isn't it understandable that people will feel uncomfortable with change.  Some don't handle it so well.  Fine.  But he said some things that borderlined crazy.

There is actually an organized group now who is attempting to get the DSA (Direct Selling Association) to put pressure on big network marketing companies to literally force associates to remove references and links and discussions pertaining to Ann Sieg's books or business strategy.  Now, I thought we were business owners here.  Moreso, I thought we had a 1st ammendment or something like that protecting us from this kind of nutso stuff.

I'm not saying all successful MLMers are like this.  I know plenty of six figure income earners who are making the switch to the new way.  And I know plenty of millionaire income earners who may feel uncomfortable but they admit it... and they don't use control tactics to force others to do things their way (or the highway) sort of deal.

When we teach people how to generate prospects using Web 2.0, the biggest mistake I see newbies make when they're getting started is to go for the really competitive key words in their first attempt at marketing.

But if you're just getting started with Building on a Budget Strategies (i.e. Web 2.0 Social Marketing), I suggest starting with less competitive key words or phrases so you can 'get on the map.'  Then, after you start seeing your content showing up on the search engines, and you get some hits, you can go for the more competitive key words and phrases going forward. This will be the beginning of your network marketing success.

What do I mean by competitive key words?

Competitive key words (and key word phrases) are words and phrases that will have a lot of competition from other marketers.  So, while there are a lot of people searching for these words or phrases, there are also a lot of marketers like yourself trying to compete for them.

So instead, what I'm suggesting, is to write your content (for a blog, or Squidoo, press releases, etc) that target less competitive key words and phrases until you get some exposure out there. 

An example of some very competitive key words in my target market (network marketing) would be:

1. network marketing
2. magnetic sponsoring
3. the renegade network marketer
4. building on a budget
5. mlm
6. mlm leads
7. generate mlm leads
8. generate network marketing leads

I won't give you a big list of less competitive key words and phrases because if I do, they will become more competitive (since a lot of people will be reading this article). 

I will give you one real example of a less competitive key word phrase I targeted.  It was:  Web 2.0 network marketing.

Although there won't be a huge number of people typing this in, there are numerous variations of that key word phrase that I could come up for on the search engines.  If you go to Google now you'll see that if you search for Web 2.0 network marketing, I'm currently listed 2nd in the results.  These would be highly targeted leads for me. 

So though it's not going to bring me nearly the same results as if I came up on the first page for the search, network marketing, it's still exposure.  Do a lot of these and it can add up to BIG exposure... which translates into a daily stream of leads and cash-flow.

So if you're new to Building on a Budget Web 2.0 Strategies, go for the less competitive key words (at first).  Then, once you start showing up on the search engines, go for the more competitive terms and expand your horizons from there.
